Even Courtney Love is excited.
“Rest My Chemistry” / Interpol
This is a song about cocaine remorse. Given that it is an Interpol song, this is not an altogether surprising thematic choice. Usually, I rebel against the “indie rock saved my life!” trope, but this is one of three songs that, in the summer of 2007, altered my personal trajectory forever. Explanation to come, maybe.

“Very Busy People” / The Limousines
This song describes, oh, I don’t know, anyone who is currently or has ever been to college.
I could probably get all chippy about the ordering of some of these LPs, but for the most part, NME got it right with their list of best 50 albums of the decade. I particularly commend their choices for No. 1 and No. 2 (The Strokes / Is This It? and The Libertines / Up the Bracket, respectively). I would have ranked them exactly the same.
One glaring omission: Hot Fuss / The Killers. Really? It gets beat out by the likes of Vampire Weekend and The Coral?
I’m so proud of my bro. You can stand him up at the Gaetz of hell, but he won’t back down.
Go get ‘em, Matt!
“The Dress Looks Nice on You” / Sufjan Stevens
Oh, Sufjan. You’ve got the voice every man should have.

1. Isn’t Lohan’s ring awesome?
2. Rarely do you have a chance to look into your very own future. Taylor Momsen can do just that by turning to her immediate right.
